So when iTunes Match started, my iTunes identified 8394 songs.....of those it claimed it needed to upload 4172.

However, this morning, when I do a Smart Playlist with iCloud Status is Uploaded, I only have 952 songs uploaded.

Another smart playlist with iCloud Status is Matched shows 6893.
Another smart playlist with iCloud Status is Purchased shows 549.

That's my 8394.

Anyone else have a similar situtation where they thought they had to upload a lot more, but in reality it looks like iTunes was just uploading Artwork and maybe metadata?

So this turned out to be a nice surprise. I had thought last night that I had to upload over 4000 songs, which seemed weird because my collection is not obscure at all.

So make sure you check with a smart playlist to see how many actually got uploaded.
