All of my songs in iTunes are in Apple Lossless format (ALAC). Apple says if I sign up for iTunes Match
  • Songs encoded in ALAC, WAV, or AIFF formats will be transcoded to a separate temporary AAC 256 Kbps file locally, before they're uploaded to iCloud. The original files won't be changed.
That would be great, because I certainly want to keep my songs in ALAC format. Anybody have issues in which the above did NOT happen? I worried that iTunes Match will make the mistake of deleting one or more of my ALAC songs.

Also, reading the above statement from Apple it's saying that after transcoding/creating a separate file from ALAC to AAC 256, Apple will use that separate AAC 256 file to upload to the iTunes Match Cloud. Then it will automatically delete that AAC 256 file?
