I've used iTunes Match heavily over the years, and most of my ripped music is in Apple Lossless format. Now that my kids are old enough to enjoy all the music that we've accumulated over the years, I find that family sharing is completely useless with my music library.

After looking at the options, I'll end up doing what Apple wants and subscribe to their music streaming service that I've never wanted. My main question is regarding whether they have finally fixed all the issues with people winding up with DRM'd music tracks in place of their matched content. Do I need to worry?

Make a backup, it only takes a few minutes. That should be the end of your worrying.

And people only get DRM if they delete their original tracks, and download them from AM.
