I purchased an iTunes Match subscripiton earlier this evening and I just enabled iTunes Match on my iPhone.
I noticed that songs that were already on my iPhone aren't taken into account when showing the songs on iCloud in iTunes Match.
For example, I have a song, Speak To Me, on my iPhone because I had synced with iTunes and it put the song on my phone weeks ago.
Speak To Me was just uploaded to iCloud via iTunes Match, and so when I view the album that contains Speak To Me, I see it listed twice -- once as a song on the device and once as a song with a cloud beside it.
More frustrating, if I click the iTunes Match "Download All" link at the bottom of the album listing on my phone, it downloads the song again, meaning I now have two copies of Speak To Me on my iPhone.
Shouldn't iTunes Match be smart enough to realize that this is the same song, especially considering it was placed on my iPhone and into iCloud via the exact same iTunes library?
Thanks!
