iTunes Match download bit rate?

I have a lot of music in various formats and various bit rates that has been uploaded to iTunes Match. When I download this music to my iPhone, at what bit rate is it? Is it in AAC format at 256 Kbps? Or whatever format/bit rate I uploaded it?

If uploaded then it is the same downloaded (except uploaded ALAC or MP3's higher than 320Kbps (I think) are converted to 256Kbps AAC. If Matched you get 256Kbps no matter what your source is.
