Same here, in the UK and purchased iTunes Match a few days ago, was working ok but while uploading 1000+ unmatched songs (incredibly slowly) I inadvertently exited iTunes, now I'm stuck at "Step 2, 6314 of 6719 songs uploaded" permanently it seems.

Buggy and slow to load on my iPhone/iPad, taking around 10 secs minimum for a track to start playing regardless of how good my WiFi is... Very disappointed with "it just works" not being true. Also if Apple want to supply everything over the cloud do they intend to offer their own network service because I can see that listening to tracks while working abroad will likely result in £000's in bills! :D

Useless methods are re-ripping and format conversion...

I wouldn't say that, format conversion certainly isn't as effective as switching to a different mastering of the files, but I've seen instances of format conversion getting an uploaded file to switch to a matched one. Who knows how often it works, but it's at least some of the time.

Down now, but a solid service.

I've been using this since day 1 and while I experience odd things too (ie that track in the middle of the album that is uploaded while all the others are matched), this just doesn't seem like a big issue. A lot of what I add to my library is pre-release (I review music for a living) so most of what I add to my iTunes Match is uploaded. But what's the issue? I get the songs from the prompter, add them to my iTunes, it uploads and 10 minutes later it's available on all my other devices with id3 and other iTunes meta information sync'd. Great.

NOW the issue today (and yesterday) is that Match appears to be down due to the influx of all the new users. I've had 10 tracks (the new Halloween, Alaska album sent to me yesterday in hopes I'll write something about the band before their gig in Lawrence, KS in February) that are stuck in the "Matching Your Music..." step. Hopefully the servers will calm down soon and all will be well.

Don't you understand? You're now supposed buy the remaining 77 tracks from the iTunes Store™...

I see no reason to when I have my signed Take To The Skies - Enter Shikari CD sitting here. Just because Apple decided that they wanted to merge tracks to make their version unique doesnt mean i have to pay twice.

Apple suck.

I'm just really confused on who wants you to buy anything? Your metal with techno beats uploads just fine (for free) and is available to all of your devices if you used iTunes Match. When did Apple ask you to buy a new album?

Furthermore since I got my copy of Take to the Skies for free (promo), now whenever I play it via iTunes Match, Enter Shikari (and their label) make some money. Sounds great to me. Apple FTW.
