This royally screwed up my collection - this service is horrible.

TuneUp screwed up my collection too, until I tried the piecemeal approach. Fixing everything that TuneUp thinks is messed up all at once is a recipe for disaster, but fixing just an album at a time (just the ones you know are messed up) works beautifully.

Me too, isn't there someone who has the knowledge to make a little prog like this?

That would be great...but why doesn't Apple just add the option to iTunes? They already do titles for CD imports and album art, not sure what's different about this.

Here's the fix we were all looking for.

Just check out this link. It's a little script written by Kevin. And it worked beautifully for me and did exactly what it says it does - finds all "matched" songs in your library (actually only the ones that you've deleted and redownloaded - all your matched 256kbps AACs) and puts in the iTunes store metadata for them. Even better, it presents you with a list and you can uncheck those songs whose metadata you'd like to leave unchanged.

Wirelessly posted

Judging by this script there should be a way that users could use some coding to tell itunes which song it should be matching in the itunes store. I don’t know anything about programming or coding but if this script is able to pull out the itunes store ID you would assume there is a way to change the itunes store ID associated with the song correct? Maybe I’m reaching a little bit and slightly frustrated with songs that aren’t matching properly as I’m being a slight perfectionist for someone who isn’t buying their music from itunes but I figured I’d put my idea out there. Anyone know Kevin that might be able to relay this to him haha..
