All of the descriptions show that Music is one of the things shared but when I sign up my kids for iTunes Match it asks for them to pay. In other words, I'm not sure if it transfers over. My purchased songs are available to re-download but I have 7k songs, some of which I want them to use since they've been creating playlists etc using my Apple ID for a year now. Very disappointed if this is the case.

Does it actually take money. I've seen mine when setting up a restored computer ask me to pay only to tell me I already own it.

Also, are all the devices you are doing this on running ios8?

I thought devices that were using your Apple ID already had access to your iTunes Match. I've been using iTunes Match on 4 different devices since iOS 6.

But if you login to iTunes with a different ID that's part of your family sharing account then you are supposed to get shared music. But the OP is saying this doesn't seem to stretch to Match. Which is a shame.
