I'm a bit confused at Apple's thinking to disallow the normal synching of playlists on top of their iTunes Match service.... For instance, say I turn on iTunes Match, then iTunes won't allow me to synch local playlists. If I'm then without mobile signal, will it mean I won't be able to listen to any of my music, even if I'd previously synched it to my phone? I'm not talking about the 'download' feature as the only time I'd see this being useful is if signal issues prevented a song from streaming fully, in which case surely you'd be unable to download the tracks anyway?

Anyway, tl;dr 🙂 - my question is this - is there a simple way to use itunes Match alongside the normal method of synching music from a computer to an iDevice, so that I can, say, synch a bunch of playlists to my phone for offline play but then also access my entire Match library over the air when I'm away from home? At the moment I just disable Match, synch the playlists I want, and then re-enable Match but surely there's a better way, Apple???
