Does this actually do anything?
the yellow one? yeah it minimizes it to my dock.
Not mine. Does nothing at all.
Edit: now it does, after a restart. Most of my minimise buttons grey out after a few minutes of having an app open: happens with Finder windows, iPhoto, iTunes, Safari and others. Happens all the time, and has for ages.
I have noticed this for a while now too. Happens on both my Macbook and Powerbook. It goes away after a quick log out. I think it has something to do with pressing a key stroke accidently or something?
You don't happen to use the Front Row Enabler, do you?
If you're asking me, the answer is "No". I have Front Row installed. This has been happening since at least 10.4.7, and is not related to pressing a key by mistake.
Ok, nevermind then. I had just seen problems with the Front Row Enabler causing the minimize button to be deactivated on windows that were open when Front Row had been activated.
It seems to be a bug in OS X, minimze buttons tend to disappear after entering OpenGL full screen mode, eg. launching SuperTux (http://supertux.lethargik.org/wiki/Download/Installation_Milestone_1.9)
