Lucky, I'm in the same boat. I just need the 2 Iron movies and the 2 Hulk movies and then I can rest easy for a bit. Then I have to complete my X-Men collection which will get expensive. I hope a FoX sale happens during Christmas or something.

You doing all Marvel movies or only Marvel Cinematic Universe movies? I believe Hulk from 2003 isn't a part of the MCU.
 
Which Marvel Phase One movies won't get you the iTunes Extras with XML? In other words, which ones do I have to buy full price on iTunes? Is it only both Iron Mans and Thor? Or First Avenger as well?

Also, do all Disney XMLs get upgraded to HD for DMA? As I mentioned with some Marvel movies, I'm aware that XML won't get certain features since Phase One was made by different studios, but I'm wondering for Disney XMLs (like old Pixar films), will they all upgrade to HD?

I've got IM2, TIH, Thor and First Avenger via XML and they don't have Extras. So its them and Iron Man you'd need to buy outright.

The other Disney films should upgrade to HD.

You can also buy those older Marvel movies with VUDU credits, and get it for $10-11. I just bought Iron Man 1, on VUDU with various credits, that cost me $10. My VUDU account is connected to my DMA account and the movies show on my connected iTunes account. The HDX version on VUDU, gives me the Extras and HD in iTunes.

Just checked iTunes and The Incredible Hulk doesn't include iTunes Extras so I guess we're good with that one. Sucks for the rest though.

Good call. I actually got most of my iTunes credit at 20 or 25% off so I'm okay purchasing directly. Not in a rush to buy but would it kill Marvel to have a $10 sale like a lot of movies on iTunes?
 
Hey everyone! Just saw this, never knew this existed!

This is a little overwhelming, but I assume new movies are added all the time?

I clicked on the links provided on the first page & I see there is an iTunes section listed on each of the UV sites. I'd like to start buying, just have to learn the lingo, etc.

The disney films seem to be confusing, but hopefully I 'll catch on.

Yes, new movies are released every week. Like last week, American Ultra was released. Tomorrow Ant-Man gets released.

To people collecting Marvel movies: Does anyone know if the iTunes copy of Guardians of the Galaxy has an aspect ratio that switches to the taller IMAX version during the selected scenes that were filmed that way? It should be easy to tell as soon as the opening title sequence.

I've been recently disappointed that 'The Dark Knight Rises' and 'Interstellar' do not do this (and yet, 'The Dark Knight' does), so for me, bluray is the best way to go for those two movies. But Guardians is from a different studio so I don't know what to expect.
Other recent Marvel films might have had some scenes shot in IMAX, too(?), but Guardians of the Galaxy is the only one I know for sure.

Not quite sure I follow but it has the same widescreen ratio in the beginning with a young Peter Quill and it continues in that format when he's dancing in the cave as Star-Lord.

Thaaaat's a bummer. Thank you for the answer.

A simpler way for me to have phrased the question is whether the movie alternates from 2:35:1 (for most of the film) to some scenes going to 1.85:1.

I really enjoy getting to see this presentation carry over on home viewing. Even on a comparatively smaller screen, it makes those bigger scenes indeed seem bigger and more immersive. But I've strayed off topic for too long. Thank you for the quick answer. :)
 
it is weird that some movies keep the aspect ratio as the movie was intended and some keep it the same no matter what.

I know Life of Pi changes and shifts aspect ratio.
 
Waiting for Ant-Man and MI:5 is hard, and will get harder once the codes are finally out and you're waiting a few days for prices to drop.

I've got Ant-Man coming in Steelbook via the US so I'll have my own code for that.

MI on the other hand, will be slightly trickier as I bought Ghost Protocol this morning for $1.75 so I'm going to have to hunt around for the others.
