iTunes Movie Rental Restrictions

I just found out today that if you rent a movie from iTunes on an iDevice, you can only watch it on that particular device. I rented a 99 cent movie from iTunes while I was at Starbucks with the intention of transferring it to my PC laptop and then to my iPad Pro. Stupidly, Apple doesn't allow this.

Yes, this is annoying. If you rent the movie in iTunes, you can move it back and forth between the computer and different iOS devices. If you rent it on an iOS device, that's not possible.
