Hi :)
Is this happening to anyone else?
The last couple of movies I rented have been able to be viewed indefinitely in iTunes on a Mac,
but not on any iDevice.

When i go to purchase, I get the usual “You’ve already Purchased this, Do you want to download again for free?”,
however I have never purchased these movies, and they also don’t appear in my Library on an iDevice
before or after I download them, so on an iDevice, there’s nothing to click to start the movie.
On a Mac though, the movie shows up once downloaded, and can be played for free.

I have since rented one of these movies to be sure I hadn’t purchased it. The rental was 28th of Jan,
I watched straight away, and it was auto deleted after expiry.
Apple are still trying to figure out why, and it’s escalated from web chat support to email engineering ticket :D

So only me?
It’s now four movies that I’ve previously rented, and still not fixed! :D

Yes, they had me do it in support chat, and I’m sure Apple did too. Have been back & forth over support & email for about a month now.
I’m not even sure it will be resolved.

If I was pirating I suppose I wouldn’t be using iTunes for movies,
but now they have fixed it, so here it is happening on both Mac and iPhone.
If it ever worked for anyone else (which Apple don’t think is the case), it won’t work anymore anyway.
