iTunes: Movies from external HDD = No Cover Art

hey

i'm having kind of an "OCD" problem.

so i moved all my converted and perfectly meta-tagged movies from my mbp to an external hdd because i ran out of space on my small SSD and so far so good.

however once i turn off the external hdd and use iTunes for a while and turn the external hdd back on, all the covers of my movies / tv shows are gone 🙁 the only way to "fix" this is to click "get info" on each file which takes FOREVER and cant be the only solution ... right?

i hate starring at all those files without proper cover arts let alone on my apple tv

any suggestions?

Update the library.

Re-add the movies.

Enter "list mode", get the information box, press cmd+n in rapid succession as many times as the number of movies in your library, let it do its thing.

Either of the three should do the trick 🙂
