A very good friend of mine told me tonight that Apple is looking into changing the name of it's "music store" to a "media store".

He works at Apple, and that's pretty much all he told me since he's very secretive about everything that happens at work. He told me this when I asked him why it's called a "music store" in the first place. It's really not a big deal, just a name change really, but I think it does show how Apple is opening itself up to new video and what it has to offer.

while i appreciate the info, you just took something your apple employee friend told you and posted it for the world to see? granted, it's not a product announcement, but you could still be jeopardizing his employment. why would you do that? did he give you the okay to post this on a rumor site? does he know that you've done this?

if i worked at apple (and liked working there) and you were my friend and did this, you would be immediately downgraded from friend status.

don't get too bent out of shape... this person doesn't know anything... all apple employees who really know things are so scared of steve jobs that they wouldn't dare share info like this.

they may be renaming the store... but the person who posted this doesn't know anything about it.

Now, Apple may actually do this, but your "friend" who works at Apple never told you this. And, if you are dumb enough to print this, Apple will file a lawsuit against you to find out who your friend is...just like they did to ThinkSecret.

Apple took a lot of bad press for that lawsuit. I doubt they will start suing people so rampantly that somebody who suggests a name change might be in the future would be a victim.

A very good friend of mine told me tonight that Apple is looking into using the PowerPC G6 in the up-coming PowerMac.
