When I connect my iPad to my computer to sync it, my iTunes application opens, but after a few moments, i get a "turning gear" problem and iTunes will not respond to any keystrokes and I have to force quit the application.
The iPad will however charge. The iPad OS is 4.3.5
I have tried different cables, different volumes on external drives, both Snow Leopard and Lion operating systems, deleting 3 iTunes preference files from my library but the problem persists. (There are probably other related preference files I should delete but I don't know what they might be).
I do not have this problem when I attempt to sync my iPhone.
