iTunes not seeing iPhone :(

I activated my iPhone using my iTunes on my laptop with Vista but my large iTune collection is on my desktop but when I connect the phone, the computer will recognize it as an iPhone but iTunes does nothing. I have deleted and reinstalled iTunes and still nothing 🙁. Any suggestions?
I appoligize if this is a repost, I did some searching around but havn't found anything. If it is and you know of a similar post please let me know 🙂.

Is it Vista x64? Because that doesn't work...

No the phone was activated and works with Vista 32. My desktop is running XP Media Center and that is the one I am trying to connect now. (until I can afford something with leopard 🙂 )
