So I synced my music collection yesterday, so I thought... But now I realized the songs I saw being copied there are not there.

I was just looking at my music collection and realized the songs are not there. It tells me I have 1,647 songs on there when it should be over 5,000. It tells me my music collection takes about 12gb.

But my total space being used is 53gb... I have no clue whats going on or what to do. But apparently I can't get my music to sync.

PC or Mac?
iTunes 11.4, right?
What type of iOS device?
When connected, how large is the orange "Other" bar in iTunes?

Mac, 12.0, 6+, 30GB of other I see now!!!

Way too much "Other"
What type of Mac do you have?
What version of OS X are you using?
It could be the iTunes install or a 32-bit issue I been hearing about.
You could try looking at the size bar results from another computer using iTunes.

Mac Book Pro, Early 2013
Yosemite 10.10

I have had syncing issues since going back to before Yosemite and and my 5s. I am wondering if something is corrupt with my iTunes library.

I just tried what the guy suggested above and it synced the 1500 songs first, then it syncs the rest and they are all showing up as other.

did not work, same thing happened. I see the songs being copied in two bunches. The first 1500 shows up in my music, the rest come up in other.

So now it appears all the songs are on my phone even tho when I look in iTunes, at the songs on my phone, some are still greyed out with the circle next to them...

Just to show you how messed up it is...

Agh iPhone doesn't let me upload screenshots without crashing :s

I have the same problem. I have a 128GB iPhone with 114GBs of available storage.

I've synced 59GBs of music, 7GBs of photos and 3GBs of apps.

That's around 69GBs of total storage used.

However, it says that I have 89GBs of available storage.

I don't know where it's getting the 89 from, I should have 45GBs of available storage.

Regarding iTunes, I've synced multiple songs and they just won't appear on the phone.

I've given up.

Oh, and I'm getting the blue screen of death every hour

Thanks for letting me vent!

im pretty sure there is a bug in either iOS 8 or iTunes 11.4 that is causing the problem. hopefully apple releases a fix for this in iOS 8.0.2 or iTunes 12.
