iTunes not working

hi guys, iTunes doesnt work on my machine (PM G4 667MHZ, 1G Ram and OS X panther), I put a cd and itunes bounces on the dock but never loads, even if i try to run itunes it just bounces but doesnt load, can anyone tell me whats wrong?

Did iTunes (as far as you know) ever work OK on this machine before? Do you already have a music library?

Does iTunes run when you just click on the icon or is the fault only present when you insert a CD?

Maybe try throwing out the iTunes preferences. 🙂

In system preferences do you have under the CDs and DVDs tab, have the default option for music CDs to be opened through iTunes?
