I know they anounced that itunes will no longer be available on Mac computers but I was wondering if it will also be taken away from iphones and ipads? If so when?

There is no clear “iTunes” on iPhone or iPad anyway, and iOS does not really have a thing officially called “iTunes”, though references could be found I believe.

What you might need to worry is if you use Mojave or high Sierra, will iOS 13 support those systems and iTunes as well.

I was going to say... I still see the iTunes Store in screenshots of iOS 13. Can anyone confirm if they still have Movies and TV shows for purchase within that App (since that functionality also exists in the TV App)? If they added functionality to purchase Music (for those who are not Apple Music subscribers) within the Music App that's all that would really be required to get rid of the iTunes App in iOS.

They would instead ditch music store entirely and go all in with subscription. Who does not love instant gratification of instantly having access to a huge library anyway? (Me not included).
For iOS 13, it seems that iTunes Store will still be around for the time being, and likely gonna stay throughout iOS 13.

The OP confuses me with the “iTunes” available in Mojave and earlier versions and “iTunes Store”. :(

The most important thing is, what will we use to back up our phones? Will there be a separate app for this now?

From what I gathered, you should still be able to backup your iPhone and iPad. Those will appear as devices in the Finder but it's not exactly clear what app will be used to perform the backup. I have "iMazing 2" (third party app) which does all that better than iTunes.

Windows users will not be affected as Apple says they will continue iTunes for Windows.

Wonder how long that will last?

I use the cloud for nightly backups but want a hard backup locally.

For years I've gone back & forth with iPhone & Samsung just because I can't stand iTunes mp3 transfer process. Recently I came across iMazing and tried the trial with my iPad to move mp3's, and I have to say it was pretty smooth and much easier.
Before I buy the program does anyone have any advice - good or bad?
Here's my deal - I play in a R&R band and move tunes all the time for practice or easy listening. Nice to be able to connect a droid & create a drive for transfers, but I do like Apple phones.
Thanks
