Howdy all. I am having an issue iTunes and Audio CD playback.
It is happening on my win xp home centrino laptop, but not my 300mhz win2k desktop.

Some cds playback all skipping/scratchy/garbled. Some playback fine, some don't. The kicker is that they will playback fine useing another app - such as media player (v10) or mplayer.

Does anyone have any idea what would be causeing this?

the cd is not srcatched, and is older [1999] so copy protection shouldn't be an issue?

any help appreciated!

Are you talking about the playback from your harddrive?
I had such problems with "apple lossless" files, after I deleted and reripped (?) them with 128 it was fine. Those songs were also from older CDs (mid90ies).
Edit: ...and yes, they were playable on media player etc...

In the preferences, there's an option for using error correction. Turn it on and see whether it helps.

not form hard drive, just form cd-rom drive.
I have my whole collectionin lossless, no playback problems for me thus far.

I usually have error-correction turned on for importing cds. Turning it off actually seems to helpthough not totally remedy the issue. ???
