So I just found out about this iTunes pass and I'm not sure what to think.

I'm looking at the pass for the Fray, and for $16 it gets me eight songs that I could get without the pass, and as of right now what's planned is only one more song and two more videos.

I realize that the pricing structure is such that you won't pay more than the value of what you get, meaning that more items surely will show up in the coming months, but what is the point of this pass?

What is the incentive to buying something, something which I don't even know fully what I'm buying as things will be listed in the coming months, and what will become of those songs and videos once the pass expires? Will they not be listed i iTunes anymore?

I guess I just don't understand the point--IMO Apple should just offer all the crap to anyone at the same individual prices for individual songs--I can't seem to be bothered buying a pass just because I see a live version of one song I want, and then get stuck with potentially a bunch of other crap tracks--seems an awful lot like the days of buying CDs, and being stuck with a CD of garbage when all you wanted was two or three good tracks on the album.

Discuss.

I bought The Fray pass when it came out (huge fan). You will def get at least as many songs as the value. Maybe a benefit is possibly getting more? I guess its like a subscription type of thing where you buy it and get new content somewhat often so your always on edge on what could come next. Thats all I can really think of to describe/ justify it. I kind of like the idea, we'll see what we have when its all said and done I guess.

I got the Depeche Mode pass. It's been sort of annoying. The numbering and sorting is usually messed up every time I get a download and I have to go in and fix it. Also they sent out what was labeled a "short film" but was really just an EPK the other day. I guess some fans want that. I just thought the title "short film" was a little misleading. I expected some Anton Corbijn goodness or something. :D
