On the iPhone, if you close your ipod then open it again the same song will open up, and you can continue to listen to where you left off. Is there such an option in iTunes?
 
Not that I know of.

But good point - perhaps you could send your idea to Apple via iTunes Help > Provide iTunes Feedback?
