Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, feel free to move it if need be.

Is there a way in iTunes to create a playist of either Billboards or iTunes top 100 songs?

I know how to play my top 100 played songs but I wanted a National or general list if possible.

Thanks,
Scott

I know this post is somewhat old but I am doing that exact thing you ask, however, I am using the Hot 100 for each week of the year across the decades of music. The goal is to have my own locally stored radio station for when I travel so I don't have to utilize bandwidth. I will be sharing the completed lists. Currently 1980's are halfway done.

Curious if you're making any headway. Now that I'm using Apple Music, I was looking for a way to create itunes playlists easily--either in macos or ios--from the billboard chart archives. Are you doing this manually, or are you using the billboard.com API to create them in itunes on the fly?

I have made alot of headway. I have currently finished the full decade of the 80's and 90's. I am also working on the 70's right now. I am doing it manually as I have not figured out a way to get Apple music to play nice with Macros or APIs. If you are interested in my playlists here are the links for the 80's and the 90's. Please be aware though that you are looking at about 30 gigabytes of music PER DECADE. but I have done this for people that want to go off the grid and still have good sounding music. satellite music is convenient but its sounds terrible. Actually very terrible. Lastly, once you have all the decades established its easier to make other playlists and doesn't take up any more storage because alot of the music that could go into others were already in your Hot 100 (ie classic rock).

Playlists:

If you have any other questions about how I organize and tag the songs I will be happy to answer that as well.

Take care.

Very old reply, but I see you're still updating the last list. Wondered if you've created lists for the 70s and 2000s?

Thanks again for slogging through this effort. It's interesting that Spotify already has the Billboard top 600. I couldn't see a way to export that Spotify playlist to iTunes though.
