iTunes podcast downloading problems.

Help!

I'm having a problem where iTunes 7.4.x stops downloading podcasts and freezes the program. Is there a way to "clear" the freeze by removing configuration files and/or cleaning up issues?

Please note I'm using iTunes 7.4.3 for Windows under Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2.
