itunes Podcast Updating

Looking for a way to stop itunes from not updating a podcast, that has not been watched in awhile (has the exclamation mark next to the podcast file in itunes).

In other words I want itunes to always update (and delete is fine) the podcasts, whether or not I have watched a particular podcast in awhile.

There's no way to disable the process, but you can circumvent it by using a script which updates all podcasts so they won't stop:

Update Expired Podcasts v2.1
