I always get this error when I try to sync my itunes http://screencast.com/t/C3NAYsie
I have the the latest version os lion osx and the latest itunes but it's still giving me this error. If someone could help me resolve this i'd be very happy because it's been happening for a while now

I assume you have tried this, but just in case...

I had the same error on my iPod touch and just restarting the computer fixed it.

I have found a solution! Its a little painful, but so dar so good in terms of banishing the "Error -54" issue.

I simply created a brand new, empty iTunes, and then copied all my tracks into the new iTunes, once done I deleted the old iTunes folder. (including the XML file).

Solution 2. Set up iTunes

Since this is about 6 years old and the original poster hasn't been on the site since they posted in this thread, it's safe to say they either found a solution or no longer have the same Mac that they did back then.
