iTunes quit during iOS 7 update

Hi all
As the topic says iTunes unexpectedly quit during the installation of iOS & on an iPad 3. Now the iPad is stuck with a black screen and apple and iTunes can't see that the iPad is connected any more

How can I at least get the iPad to switch off or continue the update process?
 
Hold down the power and home buttons at the same time until the ipad restarts...This should allow you to get things going again...It can take a few minutes so be patient.
