Title says it all.

I have not read anything on this yet, but are we able to star a song so that we can play similar or select to never play the song directly on the Apple Watch? From the lack of information on this I feel like this is not possible... I really hope that is not the case since I feel like it would be a major oversight with their own streaming service.

Any insight would be appreciated!

Yes, you can "star" songs from the watch to either play more like current song or never play this song. When you tap the star, like the phone, a contextual menu pops up giving you the standard 3 options.

The only issue with the music app from the watch is if you use the watch to start music, your only options are whatever playlists, artists and songs are in your library (weather its stored locally or in iCloud). There is no option in the watch app to start iTunes radio and select a preset station. Fairly large oversight i think, but easily corrected via a future software update.

EDIT: Forgot to say that if you start the iTunes Radio from the phone, the artist and control capabilities are available on the watch as is the star feature. It just has to be started from the phone initially.

Edit: answered above

I would assume there will be an update to allow you to start an iTunes Radio station from the watch in coming updates

Seeing as Watch OS 1.0 is based on 8.2 and now there are features missing between the two (most notably the new racially diverse emoji) I would expect there to be an update to the watch within the next month or so. And June/WWDC is right around the corner, so I would expect new features to be announced alongside iOS 9

Great news! hopefully this wasn't extremely common knowledge haha. I swear I had not read anything on this yet, but thank you for confirming!

It is unfortunate you cannot start iTunes Radio directly from the Watch. That seems really odd but hopefully this can be added via a future update. It just seems like an obvious function so I would hate them to not have it implemented...
