Interesting, I just noticed that in my iTunes account (under registered devices) it is saying that my iPhone 5 is an iPhone 4S. What's going on?

Probably because you are upgrading from an iphone 4s and using your backup to restore and set up your iphone 5.

Just change the name on the iTunes menu to the left to iphone 5 and then sync and backup and now itll create a new one.
