iTunes Rental on iPad

If I rent a movie using my Mac and then transfer the rental to my iPad, do I need an internet connection (WiFi or 3G) to view the rented movie? I'm asking because I'd like to rent a movie and then watch it on a long flight in which I won't have internet access. Thanks.
 
You will not need an Internet connection. The rental will play fine on the flight without Wi-Fi.
