itunes says iphone is connected to a different itunes account

i connected my wife's iphone to my itunes account and now i want to set up her own account. my question is she has contacts on her phone and while i am only selecting sync music which is only 4 cd that she has recorded onto itunes it says that the phone is connected to another itunes account and by connecting to this account it will erase and sync. Will it erase her contacts off her phone in the sync?

Nope, not the contacts.
It might erase the apps, music and other stuff synced but not contacts.
