i am re-installing my OS, and wondered if there was any way of retaining itunes settings- albums, ratings etc. 😕
 
In the iTunes folder (in your Music folder) are all the essential files (xml) that you have to backup. You can also backup the preferences in your Library folder to backup all the preferences you want.
