Okay, this is weird. For years and years, I would add songs to my MBP's iTunes by connecting to my iMac's iTunes library and clicking the "Import" button.

I'm finding something very weird though: I've added probably about twenty albums' worth of songs to my iMac's iTunes library since Friday. They're there. They're showing up in iTunes on my iMac.

Now...when I open iTunes on my MacBookPro and connect to my iMac's library, NONE of the songs that were imported since Friday show up. Not a single one.

I'm logged into the same iCloud account on both instances of iTunes. I have sharing enabled on both.

Both machines are running iTunes 12.9.5.5.

Here's a screen cap of the iTunes library on my iMac. My iMac's library's name is "Ramon":

Now, here's what iTunes looks like on my MBP, which is currently connected to "Ramon"'s library and ergo should be showing me everything that is in Ramon's library:

And just to make sure that maybe because of some strange tagging that the songs MIGHT be still visible when connecting via my iMac, I tried searching for them...nope. (And Danger Noodle is just one example. Again, I have a bunch of stuff that I imported into my iMac since Friday; none of which is visible to my MBP.)

In terms of troubleshooting, I have disabled and reenabled home sharing and media sharing on both machines. I've shut down and rebootd both machines. Didn't do a dang thing.

Oh...and just to make things more complicated...in my MBP's iTunes library, I'm seeing the Eden Brent album that I imported from Ramon's library, which means that it saw it on Ramon at some point. Now all of a sudden, when I connect iTunes on my MBP to Ramon's library, it no longer sees that Eden Brent album on Ramon, but when I'm directly using Ramon, I see it there. So....gah!!!!

Help???

It might happen that you were not able to complete the backup of your apps in the iCloud. You can check the same by logging into your Apple account.

I don't do iCloud backups. Never did. What would that have anything to do with it when I'm just sharing over my wifi???

(BTW, one more thing: "Share my entire library" is bulleted.)

The plot thickens...

On my MacBookpro, there are two dropdown options that say "Ramon": one with just an eighth-note in a box, the other with an eighth-note in a house (which I'm guessing indicates home sharing).

It's the one with the house icon that doesn't show anything I've imported since Friday. But if I switch to the box icon, I can see everything -- but there's no "Import" button, nor is there an import option in the context menu.

UGHGHHHHHGGHGHHHH...

I think I know what the problem was....

I got a new iMac last month, and I restored my backup from my old iMac onto it.

My new iMac's name is Apollo. My old iMac's name is Ramon. And I never gave the library on the new iMac a different name...so I'm thinking that there must have been some criss-cross confusion, know what I mean?

Just on a whim, I renamed Apollo's iTunes library to "Apollo," and suddenly EVERYTHING is showing up on my MacBookPro when I connect to Apollo....with the "Import" button!

So....yeah....
