Hi, I'm using the latest iTunes 12.4.1.6 and have 26 songs from one artist and from one album. In album view they all show as one but in artist view I see the same name multiple times and a song or two in each.

I've highlighted all the tracks and entered the artist in all the relevant boxes and all info is exactly the same apart from song title yet it still has them appear all separate?!

Any idea what's going on?

Thanks

BUG BUG BUG! I noticed the very same thing the other day, not just one artist but a number of them. Being very OCD about my library, I went through the 6000+ files I've got, one by one.

The way I overcame the issue, was to batch rename, but before just correcting the artist name, I renamed them to something completely different. So, for example, find all tracks by the artist and random rename. Then rename them again, back to how you want the artist to appear. In most instances the changes took, in some it took a few tries. However, after a few hours, it was correct and I felt a lot happier.

Thanks. This half solved it!..... I've got numerous listings of the exact same artist in Artist view, now separated up songs are now together (only appears separate in Artist view) but there are still the same numerous amounts of listings of the same artist :-/

Another thing I did, check permissions on the folder where my music is stored. In order to protect the content's metadata, I locked it down and made it read only. However, since changing it back to read & write, I have not encountered this issue since. It might be worth checking...???
