itunes, smart playlists and external hd's

I read this article a few weeks back at lifehacker about hosting all your music on an external hard drive but keeping a few songs on your computer to play when your external isn't connected to your ibook... Did someone see that? anyone have a link that can help me get back there? I can't find it.. info would be greatly appreciated tooo... thanks!

There are some iTunes Library managers out there for multiple libraries check VersionTracker or MacUpdate.
