First of all, I am not sure if this is the right place for this thread, if not I am sorry and could you please tell me where to post.
I am trying to cast media from my iTunes on a windows 7 sony vaio notebook to my appleTV but when I click the airplay symbol it simply stops responding. The same happens if I enable home sharing, it immediately stops responding.
I have tried casting different types of media (i.e. music, videos), disabled windows firewall and disabled anti virus software all with the same result. I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, still not responding when trying to cast. I Also tried an earlier version of iTunes (10.5) and the problem persisted.
I have tested the appleTV with my macbook pro and it worked fine both casting iTunes media as well as screen mirroring. I have also tested it with a desktop running windows 7 and an android phone running allcast, both also worked fine.

The vaio specs are:
intel core i7-2630QM 2.00GHz
8 GB RAM
windows 7 home premium 64 bits

iTunes is updated (11.1.5) as well as quick time (7.7.5).
the appleTV is brand new and came with software version 6.0.2, however I have also tested with another appleTV and obtained the same result(not responding).
Any ideas?
