wanted to know what the opinions were on if apple may increase the quality of films and tv on itunes, anyone think theyll do 1080p

1) not in the foreseeable future... they have to maintain compatibility with their device lineup.
2) what more do you want over AAC-256, ALAC? ALAC files are much larger for what most would consider a minimal increase in quality.
I've been buying a movie here and there from itunes and I've noticed that the newer SD catalog movies seem to be better quality. I bought the movie of the week "Are We There Yet" and it was in 853x480 and was quite happy with the quality.
