As long as each song in an album purchase is less then 10MB, the whole album can be downloaded on the phone. Any song in the album over 10MB will have to wait.

I've never bought music on iTunes simply because of the DRM but I might consider it now they're getting rid of it.

How will it work if, assuming there's a 10MB download limit (where did this info come from by the way?), you have to download the album in multiple sessions?

Say there's an album for £7.99 which has 11 songs which are 79p each. If you download it in parts won't you end up paying £8.69 for the album?

It came from me trying to download a 11 meg podcast on 3G and the phone told me I could only download 10MB+ files on Wi-Fi.

Ah ok. I was aware of the 10MB limit for apps.

I'm just concerned that if we want to download an album we're going to have to pay more for it than downloading it on our computers if we can't get the whole thing at once.

iTunes will know if you've purchased a full album or individual tracks, because an album will require one click of the 'Buy' button, whereas individual tracks require one click for each track.
With most songs becoming DRM free, it's another great move - albeit one that should have been there from the start(legal wrangles permitting).

Shazam is also even more awesome, because of this. I thought the iTunes links in Shazam tags were generic searches, but the links only show up, if iTunes has the song.

I have never tried to download an album from my phone, but I believe it would automatically queue all the songs and then download them one by one. And if you can't download a file because it is larger than 10MB it just remains in the queue until you're on Wi-Fi anyway.

Your assumptions in this case are correct.
