Just recently bought an ATV4 and I have changed the subtitle appearance within settings to my preference of white subs, medium size and told the ATV to not let other apps override these settings. So Netflix, YouTube, Prime Video etc all display the subs fine. However I connected my Movies Anywhere account yesterday to my iTunes and I noticed that some movies (Enter the Dragon, Angry Birds Movie, The Night Before and Man of Steel have small subs totally different to my saved settings. Other UV ported movies that are played through iTunes the subs are fine like Ouija Origin of Evil and Secret Life of Pets. I don't know why the other titles the subs are small and they don't even stay in the middle. If a person standing on the right is talking, the subs move to the side etc.

Is this just because the movies ported over from MA? I assumed because they were played in iTunes that it would use the iTunes copy and therefore use my subtitle preferences. Is there any way to fix this?
Thanks

The subtitles that "don't stay in the middle" are closed captions. It's a different format than text subtitles that includes position information. But your font settings should affect both CC and subtitles.

Thats interesting, the titles that are acting up all are CC only no SDH subs and the ones that worked fine both have SDH subs

Yes, different movies from the iTunes store have different subtitle options. Many movies (primarily older and "smaller" ones) have only closed captions, many newer and "bigger" movies have subtitles, often in multiple languages. Has nothing to do with MA.

I just played a bit with the accessibility options on my ATV4 and at least the font size and background opacity affect both subtitles and closed captions, so I don't know why it doesn't seem to work with closed captions in your case. I only tried the Apple Movies app.

I changed the settings to a different font style and the changes happened across all the movies only thing is the movies that were fine before the subtitles are too big now and the movies where the subs were small they're now normal sized but still higher up on the screen.

I think I might not have phrased the problem correctly. When I change font size and text colour etc, the changes do show up on all the movies. However the movies with CC and no SDH has small size text to begin with so medium size subs appear fine on Netflix and movies on iTunes that have SDH subs but the movies with just CC subs remain small. If I change the text size to large it makes those CC titles subs larger but then the stuff that was normal before like Netflix etc the subs become too large.
