Like everybody else here, I'm d/l and currently installing 3.0. While it's installing, I'm trying to work in other apps.

However, iTunes insists on coming to the front, taking focus, and demanding my attention. Why? Not for a dialog box or because it's done. Simply to watch the scroll bar tell me it's still updating the iPhone firmware.

It's how it's always worked. It's 200MB, I shut off everything on the computer but itunes.

Even when 3.0 is downloading people have something to complain about.
