The problem is that iTunes separates two tracks from the others.
I've tried to check everything in the data. Nothing seems to work.

Change "Album artist" to exactly the same as what is in "Artist" for all of those selected tracks, rather than keeping it blank.

Okay thanks. That did the job. Why did that work?

It's likely that the two tracks that wouldn't sit with the rest of the album had a different album artist to the other tracks (which is why the "album artist" field was blank, iTunes displays nothing in a field that has more than one name entered for the selected tracks). iTunes likes sorting by album artist, so it realised the album artists were different and separated them from the rest of the album.
