iTunes Visualizer crashing

Hey guys, whenever I go to the Visualizer option in iTunes while listening to music, it enters full screen and then nothing comes up and then my Mac becomes unresponsive, the music still plays but I loose control and cannot do anything, not even a Force Quit. Anyone experience the same problem? Is there a fix?
