iTunes wifi sync

Restart iTunes
Restart your phone.
Restart your router.

Ive never had to turn off handoff to get it work.

i could never get wifi sync to work right, i gave up on it

question:
did they remove automatic backups to iTunes over wifi????

when i plug in my iPhone to its charger it doesn't back up to iTunes

if go to settings general wifi sync , and sync manually, it just says 'waiting for mac mini' and it gives up

if i go to iTunes and sync over wifi, it eventually finds the iPhone and backs it up

when you plug the iPhone into its charger, does it automatically back up to iTunes??? or do you still have to do it manually ??

i was wondering if they disabled automatic wifi iTunes backups to get people to get iCloud backup and wanted to ask

it is definitely syncing over wifi. but it does not back up. is this normal?

Tried all of that and it doesn't work except for turning off hand off. As Soon as I do that it works instantly

Seeking automatic wifi backup and automatic delete feature

I am seeking a "hands-free" solution to backing up photos/videos. What I want is an external hard drive to be my personal "cloud" storage, and I want it to automatically backup photos/videos weekly via Wifi, from my iphone, ipad, and my wife's iphone. I also want a feature that auto-deletes old pictures/videos (that have already been backed up) from each device.

For example, say in a six month period my 16 GB iphone becomes full. Rather than plugging in my iphone into a PC running itunes, manually, every six months, it would be nice to have it auto-backup photos from the most recent week, and auto-delete the photos from the first week of that six-month period. And then repeat the same process weekly. New pics get backed up, and old pics get deleted from the device but are still retained on the external HD.

I looked at the Western Digital "Cloud" but it doesn't appear to have an automatic Wifi backup feature. Also this wouldn't still solve the problem of having to manually delete older pics on each device.

Bottom line: my devices become full quickly and it is a chore to manually backup each device and then manually delete pics from each device and question myself "did I backup this funny picture already or no?".

My concern definitely must not be uncommon. But asking around, I haven't found anyone who knows a pure solution.

Anyone out there know a solution to this, or can provide any insights?

Thanks!

Dropbox has a auto-upload feature for the camera roll but it sounds like you may need to purchase addtional storage from them.

Will not solve the auto delete requirement, but check out BitTorrent sync.

I know this thread is several months old, but PhotoSync just added a feature to delete photos after they've been transferred to their destination.
