It happens time to time. It's even more annoying today. None of my devices just shows up on iTunes over same wifi network. So I, once again, had to take out the wire, and connect the iPhone to mac just to make it show up again. Now, since I already connected, I synced it because it's quicker. But as soon as I disconnected it, the iPhone disappeared from iTunes. WHY?? WiFi syncing is ON, and has been ON for a long time.

Anyone can help me? I want all my devices to be automatically shown in iTunes on same wifi network. So that if I just click Sync button, it will sync right away wirelessly.

It's supposed to work, but since a few months ago, it's really unstable.

    Thanks.

Same problem here... Wifi sync has never worked flawlessly in my experience. I have three iOS devices, sometimes they show up, sometimes they disappear, then show up again... I have heard somewhere that there are some settings that you can change in your router to make it work better but I have never tried that... Can't be bothered...

Do you know how to make devices show up again?? I tried everything, from restarting both iOS device and mac, reconnecting to wifi, restarting router, etc. It just doesn't show up.. :( Is it Apple's server side or something?? It's super annoying.

Do ANY devices on your network see any other devices on the network? Separation of network clients is a common security possibility in most router settings, you may want to check that is set correctly.

How do I check if any devices on my network see other devices? At least in iTunes, it doesn't show both my iPad and iPhone. i didn't change anything in my router settings for months..I'm kinda newbie in router network settings. What should I check in my router settings, and how do I know if it's set correctly?

    Thanks.

well that kinda depends on your router model, you can either Google it, post details of your router or we'll all have to guess ;-)

Do you have a printer on your network or any other shared device? Do you have both 5GHz and 2.4GHz being transmitted by the router? Only one SSID (WiFi network name)?

    ----------

Well if yours hasn't worked since 2011 it can't be down to Yosemite

You will need to investigate your network settings, likely something is set to separate wireless clients....

This is the Yosemite forum. If you think you have an iTunes/WiFi sync issue better to put it in the appropriate forum in a new thread.

My router is Cisco and it's DOCSIS 3.0. It looks like this when I log in. I don't know what I need to check...like what is related to iTunes wifi sync?? I have no idea..

happens often here. usually, quitting and re-opening itunes gets the app to at least SEE my phone, but when i try dragging music over, it mostly doesn't work.

My devices just show up again... There is no pattern, or obvious reason... Then, after some time, they disappear again... I agree, it is very annoying.

AHH..i'm getting really frustrated. It doesn't show up automatically, and if I plug in, it temporarily shows up, but if I unplug the iPhone again, it goes away on iTunes too. :( :( :( :( :( WHYYY I want it to STAY THERE..

Got it Fixed! Had to do network reset on the iPhone. Now it stays in iTunes even after I unplug it from the mac.
