iTunes won't display Chinese characters - please help

I have quite a large portion of Chinese, Korean etc. songs for which, when I open their folder on Macintosh HD, it displays all the characters perfectly, but as soon as they are loaded into iTunes, they would all turn into a bunch of question marks.

Please don't tell me to go retype each and every one of them, as that would be awfully time-consuming and I couldn't really afford to spend so much time on that only...

There must be another way to make it work...??

sorry friend, but you will have to retype it. i'm not sure why this happens but it happened to me as well. all my korean song id's didn't get imported properly. anytime i download or receive files with korean in it, it comes out funky. i'm looking for solutions myself.

I've downloaded iTunes in Chinese and now it displays more songs properly, but still not all of them. Well, at least some progress...

I just tried enabling Chinese language only, and it doesn't help for those "???" Chinese songs of mine...

It's because of the ID3-tags. Nothing you can do about!

You have to retype all the songs...

problem on the id3 encoding

mac itunes only support unicode.
the song's info show up error because you have big5 or GB ....
find a software to convert the id3 encoding and make the id3 tag in unicode
google "convertz802"
i use that to batch convert all the songs
