so i'm downloading this episode of the wire, and itunes keeps telling me there is an error, fine, whatever i'll redownload it. but if i delete it, it starts from where i left off and will continually tell me there is an error. not only that but now it has to check for purchases every time i try to use itunes. How can i delete it to restart the download

I don't remember the specifics but there is a folder somewhere that holds the old broken file and that is causing the error. I had a similar problem and found the info on the Apple support site. I think it might be a download folder inside the iTunes folder or something like that, but once you find it you can delete it and choose Check for Purchases. Now that I think about it you might have to have Apple reset the queue and delete the file, then it will work.
