iTunes8 + 2.1 = Lighting backups

    What used to take ??? (because I'm not sure I ever let it finish) now takes 2 minutes. I did a restore (not update) and have eight pages of apps. Glad to see all the other posts with positive 2.1 experiences so far.

    And I promised myself I wouldn't cry... :D

    Maybe I should try doing restore?

    It still take a LONG amount of time to do the "backup" portion of syncing.

    Will that also wipe all SMS and photos?

    Before 8 mine had been all over the board...sometimes it would be 40 minutes and sometimes it would be 10. The long ones had just started....why I don't know.

    They got down to 3-4 minutes just after the update to 8.

    After 8 and after 2.1 my last one barely made it to six seconds....and this was after downloading a couple of apps.

    ...add another 30 - 60 seconds if you have Genius enabled.
