I have a jailbroken iphone and I bit the bullet and upgraded from xp to windows 7 so internet tethering works. But now itunnel does not work. Is there a way to get itunnel (either 2.7 or 3.0) to work with windows 7? I can't seem to find a way to do so. I have an iphone 3gs running 3.1.2.

Try this:

1. Go to Cydia and look for Repositories category
2. Select and install iFoneGuide.nl
3. After Cydia restarts, go to the Search tab and search for Tethering Patch
4. Select and install the patch that fits your phone (3G or 3GS).
5. Once that is done, quit Cydia and enter Safari
6. Type in the address bar: http://help.benm.at
7. Scroll down and select Mobile Configuration
8. Select which ever country you reside in and later the carrier profile that matches you (AT&T, O2, Orange, etc)
9. After that, all you need is to go to Settings => General => Reset and select "Network Settings".
10. Your iPhone will reboot and you should now see Tethering up and working in Network Settings, enjoy!

Uses the native tethering function and is Safer, much safer.

not too sure if you are stuck on internet tethering, if so use the above post!

otherwise if you are stuck with SSHing then try using WinSCP always works a charm :)

Also found this...."For people who are still using iTunnel, you should consider moving to the usbmuxd project, which now contains functionality which replaces iTunnel"

(quoted from http://www.cs.toronto.edu/~jingsu/itunnel/)

just to be clear, I am able to successfully tether. But I can't use the program itunnel to connect from my pc to my iphone using usb in windows 7. I do not want to use wifi to connect to my iphone. Is there any way to use the program itunnel in windows 7 to connect to my iphone using usb?

there is iphonebrowser where you can SSH via the USB cable...but i cannot confirm if this works with Windows 7. I think you need AFC2ADD Patch downloaded from Cydia for this to work...

iphonebrowser might work but I just want itunnel to work. Is it incompatible with windows 7? Does anyone know anything about itunnel?

I know this thread has existed for a long time. But to anyone out there who is still seeking the latest version of iTunnel that will take care of whatever compatibility issues (new iOS, new itunes, new OS, etc etc etc), seek no more....

I was as desperate as you were until I found i-FunBox! Just go download i-FunBox and run it. In there you will see a 'USB Tunnel' feature which functions exactly the same as iTunnel.

Just note the 'PC address' and you will then have your IP address for use by WinSCP or Tunnelier or whatever SSH tool u use.

Hope this helps!!
