Hey all, I initially posted this in another forum to wonder why mail was taken so much RAM, but then the comment was made that I have even more worrying stats on mds and launchd

Tell me what you think and what is the possible problem please!

    Cheers :apple:

Well a screen grab of your activity monitor would help a lot more.

I have 3 accounts (MobileMe, 2 Gmails), and one Apple RSS feed, why is the usage so high?!

The usage for Mail doesn't seem outrageously high to me... mine's only at 128 MB but I also only have 2 GB of RAM. Apps use more RAM when more is available.

That real memory usage does seem somewhat high for your minimal usage pattern. Mine is considerably lower (with a considerably greater number of email accounts), but I don't use Mail.app for RSS. Have you tried Mailbox >> Rebuild?

It looks like the memory usage has gone down some since your first post.

launchd has settled down. Thats good.

    What was the JavaApplicationsStub ?

Do you have any kind of document/folder/file share going on with the PS3 media server ?. Whenever there is excessive memory stats I always look into ports and associated server stuff.

What's the network usage look like ?
